Anne Welenc (* 1987 in Brandenburg), director, writer, actress in Berlin. Welenc completed BA Theater and MA Scenic Arts Practice at the HKB in Bern. During her studies she worked with Ivo Dimchev, Viviane de Muynck and Francois Chaignaud and Meret Matter, among others. Since graduating in 2014, she has been working between Berlin and Switzerland. In 2015 she won the production of her piece DAYS OF THE DEAD at the newcomer festival Treibstoff Basel with Happy End Company. She collaborates with Daniel Hellmann, Annalena Fröhlich, Marc Streit, Gina Haller, Sam Hertz, Michel Wagenschütz, Renae Shadler and Layton Lachman. She has been invited to residencies at Ballhaus Ost Berlin, PACT Zollverein, Tanzhaus Zürich, Island NES. In 2019 she has developed TRAUMGIRL, her first solo, with Daniel Hellmann. It is the female counterpart to Hellman's TRAUMBOY. TRAUMGIRL premiered at Ballhaus Ost Berlin, Gessnerallee Zurich, Edinborough Fringe Festival,Tanzhaus Zurich, Schlachthaustheater Bern. In 2020/21 Welenc "Sumpfgeborene" realized her first collaboration with Matthaei und Konsorten at Sophiensälen in Berlin and toured TRAUMGIRL RMX for the first time in France and Belgium. With QUEENS, she made her writing and directing debut at Ballhaus Ost in 2023. While she previously appeared as an actress in the above-mentioned transdisciplinary projects, with QUEENS she continues this practice by expanding classical theater material with impulses from related performing arts.
